An iconic voice is no longer with us as it has been revealed that singer Noboru Kimura has passed away. According to the singer’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, he had been undergoing medical treatment before passing away at the age of 72.

The account went on to thank fans of Noboru Kimura, who has also worked as Harry Kimura over the years.

In addition to performing a number of theme songs for anime and other media, Kimura was the lead vocalist for the rock band TALIZMAN, which performed theme songs for the Ultraman series. As for his own theme song performances, they include the likes of Ultraman, Sugata Sanshiro, Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman, Lupin III Part 2, Thunderbirds 2086 and Barefoot Gen, to name a few.

Our thoughts go out to Noboru Kimura’s family, friends, colleagues and fans.
