Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon confirmed that other teams have expressed interest in trading up for the Titans’ No. 7 pick ahead of Thursday’s draft.
“People are nosy, and I think we owe it to our organization, I owe it to Coach Callahan and his staff, to listen to all calls, no matter where they fall, just to see if it’s anything enticing, if it’s anything that’s going to blow us away to make us really want to trade back,” Carthon said Tuesday, via ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “We’re just listening at this point.”

The latest mock draft by the B/R NFL Scouting Department predicts that prospects including Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt, LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, Florida State edge Jared Verse and Georgia tight end Brock Bowers would still be available at No. 7.
Carthon said during the press conference that the Titans’ draft board was mostly set.
“We have a strategy,” Carthon said. “We know what should be available for us, particularly in the early round where we’re picking, and have an idea of what we want to do.”
Any changes to this plan, including a potential trade of the first-round pick, would depend on input from the team’s coaching staff, Carthon said.

Carthon is collaborating with a new leadership group including head coach Brian Callahan, offensive coordinator Nick Holz and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson as he looks to shape the Titans’ rebuild after the team’s six-win season in 2023.
A major part of that rebuild will involve the decision regarding the No. 7 pick, which marks the first time the Titans have drafted within the top ten since selecting wide receiver Corey Davis in 2017.
If Tennessee keeps the top-ten pick, the team is likely to seek a player who can help quarterback Will Levis succeed in his first full season as starter.
The Titans have “showed significant interest” in providing Levis with a top target in Nabers, Davenport reported Monday. The team has also been connected with Alt, who could help shore up an offensive line that proved to be a weakness for the Titans last season, per NBC Sports’ Michael David Smith.
Either way, the pressure is on Carthon. He either needs to land on this first-round pick, or else recoup significant assets for it, in order to push his team back toward playoff contention.
